"As passive subjects, the camera's eye becomes our eye, and its distortion become, possibly, the truth."

I have created this collection as a broken reflection of this world- a reality through different eyes. This is an alternative world on which an image of a human face can be distorted to a multi-eye creature and make the one who wears it into a hairy Cyclops.

I want to function as the camera lens, and make this collection a key to another kind of reality.

all garments were hand made, knitted, dyed, embroidered and painted by me.

SKINS project deals with different images of a human skin. Through the creation I was exploring the ability to change appearance while a subject wears a garment that simulates another skin.

The research began with the tattooed skin and travels beyond our visual conception of our, or someone else's skin, toward a deeper and  sometimes missed significance due to a certain daily routine of the “western” society. From a tattooed white skin I have tried to touch other skins, skins that were not born as privileged white- The skin of the people that throughout history has been oppressed by dominant groups.

The “We don’t need leather" project is a personal obligation. as a vegan, I do not use products that includes leather or animal source materials. that’s why as a textile designer, I have decided to find a perfect substitute to any of those by using the best cellulose fibers and alternate them so they could be more stiff and shiny and according it to that purpose.
